The World Health Organisation has published a study showing that the oral contraceptives they are peddling world-wide are carcinogenic.
The first and most extensive monograph evaluates evidence of an association between the use of combined oral contraceptives and cancer at nine sites. Concerning breast cancer, the evaluation concludes that, even if the association is causal, the excess risk for breast cancer associated with patterns of use that are typical today is very small. Studies of predominantly high-dose preparations found an increased risk of hepatocellular carcinoma in the absence of hepatitis viruses. Citing these findings, the evaluation concludes that there is sufficient evidence in humans for the carcinogenicity of combined oral contraceptives.
But then, the international body has also sounded the alarm on overpopulation, so this proves to be a real boon. The chemicals either prevent pregnancy or flush it, and more mothers die before their time, so that curbs the growth that has them so alarmed. Phew.
Seriously, when can we expect the first change in policy to at least inform the women in third world countries of the dangers and offer NFP as a safer and more effective alternative? 100 million women around the globe use these, according to the LifeSite News, many at the urging of UN agencies. Bets, anyone?
[Brochures such as this and this one, pushing both carcinogenic oral contraceptives and highly dangerous copper IUDS, lead one to believe that women's health is not paramount at the WHO.]
COPPER IUDS?! Good heavens, why don't they just take a hacksaw to a woman's uterus and be done with it. I'm not a scientist, but I've seen what happens to aging pennies left in water. You know, there's going to come a time where all of this will start to reverse. I'm simply astounded by people like Bono (an Irishman no less!) who promote contraception for the poor. Skim back a few pages in Irish history. The English told the Irish: stop having babies and convert to Protestantism... then we'll give you food.

I hate to say this but, someone is making a ton of money on that "medicine" (pains me to use that word) so you have to fight two groups to have it stopped. The non-religious and the pharmacutical companies.
Sad really
