Can anyone in the modern world provide a compelling reason why this is wrong?
A 22-yr-old college grad looking to pay off her student loans will auction off her virginity at Nevada's infamous Moonlight Bunny Ranch, Us Magazine reported.
The Sacramento State grad, who uses the pseudonym "Natalie Dylan," told "The Insider" she is "ready for the controversy."
"I don't think auctioning my virginity will solve all my problems, but it will create some financial stability," she said, according to the magazine. Dylan was turned down by eBay, and shock-jock Howard Stern denied reports he has a hand in the stunt.
"Through this process I'm not just looking for the highest bidder," she said, Us magazine reported. "I'm looking for someone who is a genuine, overall nice person."
Assuming this is true (which is a leap, given the straits of Us Magazine at present) it is entirely in keeping with the "values" peddled around the clock by our pop culture. Consentual sex is a private matter; it has no meaning other than pleasure (though it's proven its monetary value to the porn industry). A woman owns her body and can thus enter whatever transactions she likes. The one virtue she has pin-pointed (that the lucky man must be "nice) has the support of secular elites (although many will be impressed with her "cleverness" as well) and there's no doubt that she imbibed all the "self-esteem" clap-trap over the years to think she can pull in the requisite dough. And student loans are such a burden that anything to get rid of them has to be a good thing. Maybe she could log the progress on video for "reality tv" and pay for grad school too!
